Adin Ross, a popular streamer, recently appeared on the Full Send Podcast to discuss his thoughts on one of the most debated moments in recent rap historythe feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
Their rivalry heated up in 2024 when Lamar released Not Like Us, which climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, causing a stir among fans and critics alike. Ross believes that despite the song’s popularity, it was based on false claims about Drake having a child with Dua Lipa.
During the interview, Ross stated: In my opinion, I think Drake won the rap battle because…while Kendrick made Not Like Us, its all lies. He said [Drake] had a daughter, which was debunked.
Ross goes on to highlight Drake’s significant impact on Lamar’s career. In 2011, when Ross was just 11 years old, he recalls that Drake brought Kendrick and several other artists like J. Cole and A$AP Rocky on tour as part of the “Would You Like a Tour?” series.
Its all built up, Ross added. He’s been No. 1 for so long they just tried to knock him out, but he cant be knocked out. Hes in Australia selling out crazy showsthis guy dropped an album that is amazing.
The streamer acknowledges Kendrick Lamar’s achievements and his place as a legend in the rap game with hits like “Alright” and critical acclaim such as Grammy Awards. However, Ross points to Lamar’s last studio album before “GNX,” Mr. Morale, which he considers disappointing compared to Drakes more recent output.
Despite their differences, both artists are currently thriving in different areas of the industry: Kendrick Lamar performed at the Super Bowl halftime show earlier this month and is preparing for his Grand National Tour with SZA starting in April; Meanwhile, Drake is on tour in Australia promoting his $ome $exy $ongs 4 U project.
