Kendrick Lamar Claims First UK Number One Hit with ‘Not Like Us’

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” has reached number one on the UK Official Singles Chart (February 21). This diss track was first released in May 2024 and marks Kendrick Lamars debut No. 1 hit in the UK, thanks to his Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show earlier this month. His explosive performance at the show has been a massive success, becoming the most-watched halftime show in history according to the NFL and Apple Music, with over 130 million viewers tuning in.

Additionally, Lamar’s recent U.K. tour announcement with SZA is further boosting his current chart momentum. Two of their collaborations, “Luther” and “All The Stars,” are currently at No. 4 and No. 5 on the charts this week. Meanwhile, he is also dominating in the US as “Not Like Us” has re-crowned him king of the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time since July.

Throughout his illustrious career, Kendrick Lamar has achieved remarkable success with eleven top ten singles in the UK. His collaborations range from Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” to his own hit single Humble, which was featured on his Pulitzer Prize-winning album, Damn.

Trending on Billboard, Lola Youngs song “Messy” has climbed to No. 2 this week, breaking her four-week reign at the top of the charts. The track appears on her studio album This Wasn’t Meant for You Anyway, released in May 2024 via Island Records.

After performing at The BRIT Awards on March 1st, Lola Young will embark on a U.K. headlining tour beginning March 3rd at Londons O2 Forum Kentish Town. She also has performances planned for Coachella in April and other major festivals including Parklife in Manchester and Reading & Leeds.

Sabrina Carpenter’s chart success continues with the deluxe edition of her Short n’ Sweet LP. Her track “Busy Woman” is currently at No. 10, while Please Please Please has returned to the top ten for the first time in four months thanks to a remix featuring Dolly Parton (No. 9).

Further up the chart, Chappell Roan’s hit song “Pink Pony Club” is now at No. 3.

AJ Tracey and Jorja Smiths new collaboration Crush debuts on the charts at No. 23, while Sam Fender’s People Watching, featuring in his upcoming album of the same name, has climbed five places to No. 26 this week.
