BRIT Awards 2025 Preview: A.G. Cook Set for Producer of the Year Award

AG Cook has been named the recipient of this year’s Producer of the Year award at The BRIT Awards.

A.G. Cook, a British musician, served as an executive producer for Charli XCX’s Brat LP, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and topped the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart. Over his career, he has collaborated with various artists including Beyoncé on her album Renaissance in 2020. However, Cook is best known for his extensive work with Charli XCX, having served as executive producer for several of her projects such as Number 1 Angel and Pop 2 (2017 mixtapes), the LP Charli (2019), and How I’m Feeling Now (2020).

In a statement about receiving this honor, Cook said, “As someone who has always felt like an outsider, being recognized by The BRITs is incredibly flattering. From my early days with PC Music to working on Charli’s mixtapes and beyond, I’ve been fortunate enough to work on music that deeply resonates with me. Specifically, I would like to thank Sophie for her vision and artistry; she continues to inspire producers everywhere.”

The honorary Producer of the Year prize was first awarded in 1977 to George Martin, a producer associated with The Beatles. In recent years, other recipients have included Fred Again (2020), Inflo (2022), David Guetta (2023), and Chase & Status (2024). Cook’s selection for this award was decided by a panel of expert judges.

For the past decade, AG Cook has been influential in both the British and international pop scenes. In 2013, he founded PC Music, a record label credited with promoting the hyperpop sound. In 2024, his third studio album Britpop made it onto Billboard U.K.’s albums of the year list; Sophie Williams described the LP as “a safe, uplifting candy-striped wonderland where one could hide from growing global anxiety.”

The BRIT Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday (March 1) at London’s O2 Arena and will be hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall. The event features performances by artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Sam Fender, Teddy Swims, Shaboozey, and others. The ceremony will air live on ITV and the streaming service ITV X starting at 8:15 p.m. GMT.
