Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” felt like it was everywhere in 2024, but none of Carpenter’s music made it onto NBA star Jaylen Brown’s latest playlist.

Brown participated in a pop culture quiz game during a timeout in the team’s face-off against the New York Knicks on Sunday (Feb. 23). Throughout the recorded clip, he struggled to identify several superstars.

“No clue,” Brown said when shown a photo of Sabrina Carpenter. The NBA finals MVP also questioned whether Missy Elliott was actually featured when her image appeared with sunglasses.

He hilariously mixed up Luke Combs for Action Bronson and failed to even recognize Chappell Roan. While he identified Prince, he struggled with Sir Paul McCartney’s photo next.

Brown found the quiz amusing when they showed a photo of himself on the jumbotron after mentioning Sir Paul McCartney. “Y’all are funny,” he joked, adding, “I’m in the midst of a bunch of legends.”

The All-Star forward has also dabbled in music — back in August, Brown teamed up with A$AP Ferg for “Just Do It” following the Celtics’ championship run.

“We were just vibing after the parade, freestyling and decided to hit the studio,” he shared with Billboard. “It was celebration mode, and the song came naturally.”

Although his playlist might not be as extensive as some believe, there’s one track we know won’t make it: Brown previously called Ice Spice’s “Think U the S–t (Fart)” the worst song of all-time in an interview with Complex last summer.

Lately, Brown has been focused on improving his game on the court. He poured 24 points into Sunday’s win against the New York Knicks, securing a victory for Boston in a 118-105 matchup.
