Morgan Wallen took to social media to share a personal new song for his four-year-old son, Indigo Wilder, titled “Superman.”
The country music star opened up about the struggles and hardships he has faced throughout his career in this heartfelt track. He reflected on how his experiences, both good and bad, have shaped him into who he is today.
“I’ve been trying to write a song for my son that I love. But nothing feels perfect enough,” Wallen explained in an accompanying caption. “This one isn’t perfect either, but I am proud of it.”
The track begins with Wallen contemplating the life his child will grow up seeing – from the success and fame he has achieved to the challenges and mistakes he’s made along the way.
“One day he’ll see my mugshot from a night when I got a little too drunk,” he sings. “Hear a song about a girl that I lost/ From the times when I just wouldn’t grow up.”
The lyrics delve into Wallen’s fears as a father and his vulnerability, acknowledging his shortcomings while expressing unwavering love for his son.
“And when you ain’t a kid no more / I hope you don’t think less of me / I try to hide my fallen soul / But you’re gonna see,” he continues. “Now and then, that bottle’s my kryptonite … brings a man of steel to his knees.”
Morgan Wallen has been consistently releasing new music in recent months, including tracks like “Lies, Lies, Lies” and “Smile.” He is also preparing for the launch of his 2025 tour with the album titled I’m the Problem.
