Carín León, Becky G Among Stars Set to Light Up Debut Latin Festival at Brookside of The Rose Bowl

Carín León, Becky G, Edición Especial, and DannyLux are set to perform at Brookside at The Rose Bowl during its inaugural Latin music event scheduled for May 24th. Billboard Español exclusively announced this lineup on Monday (February 24).

The Pasadena venue, managed by Goldenvoice—the same company behind Coachella—has previously hosted annual festivals like Cruel World, focused on new wave and alt-rock, and Just Like Heaven, themed around early 2000s alt-rock. However, this year’s event marks a first for the space as it will be dedicated to Spanish-language music since it began hosting multi-stage events in 2017.

“Brookside at The Rose Bowl has always been a special place for Goldenvoice,” said a representative from Goldenvoice. “We’ve had the privilege of witnessing each artist’s journey and are excited to come together for this event showcasing the best of Musica Mexicana. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see the Latin community unite at such an iconic venue.”

Headlining the event is Carín León, who received a Grammy nomination for Best Música Mexicana Album (including Tejano) in 2024 with “Boca Chueca, Vol. 1,” which debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart and No. 8 on Top Latin Albums. His innovative fusion of traditional Mexican music with country elements has significantly transformed the genre.

“I am incredibly proud to be a pioneer in bringing regional Mexican music to this iconic venue,” said León in a press release. “The advancements we’ve made within our genre are truly remarkable, and Mexico’s growing presence on global stages is awe-inspiring. This event exemplifies what our country has prepared for the future; moving forward with steadfast steps! I am honored to represent Mexican music with respect, always giving it my all.”

Becky G continues her celebration of her Mexican-American heritage in Encuentros (2024), which debuted at No. 15 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart last October after the success of Esquemas (2022) and Esquinas (2023). These albums reached Nos. 5 and 7, respectively.

“As a proud Chicana born and raised in Inglewood, I’m beyond thrilled to be part of this historic moment where música mexicana is being featured for the first time,” said Becky G in a press release. “Bringing my music and culture with me everywhere I go means everything; however, there’s something especially special about performing música mexicana in Los Angeles. It’s an honor that excites me to no end.”

Also joining the lineup are Edición Especial from Culiacán, Sinaloa, following their successful Segunda Edición tour and DannyLux—the fast-rising star known for blending romantic sierreño music with a poetic flair.

Presale tickets will be available on Wednesday (February 26) via Carin Leon’s website. General ticket sales begin on Friday (February 28) at noon PT through the AXS website.
