Karol G made her debut on the red carpet at the Con Cora Land benefit charity gala held on February 22, 2024, in Miami.
The inaugural event of Karol G’s Con Cora Foundation took place at the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. The evening kicked off promptly at 7 p.m., with a lineup of prominent industry leaders and artists including Elena Rose, Manuel Medrano, Mau y Ricky, and Ela Taubert.
The fundraising gala supported the Colombian singer’s Con Cora Foundation and its Casa Con Cora initiative aimed at empowering thousands of women to pursue their dreams. During her speech at the event, Karol G highlighted that “this project comes from the heart of our home.” She mentioned that her parents instilled in them an ideology of life where blessings must circulate.
Earlier, Karol had stated in a press release that the foundation’s goal is to empower women and girls to transform their dreams into reality. The Con Cora Land will serve as a space for recognizing achievements, raising awareness about impact, and looking forward to future projects.
The event featured several highlights including:
Live Auction: Hosted by Puerto Rican actress Giselle Blondet at around 8 p.m., the live auction offered five special items. These included a gold necklace designed by Colombian jeweler Johanna Ortiz, sold for $4,500; tickets to the Miami U.S. Open (sold for $7,000); a dinner experience at Casadonna Restaurant (sold for $7,000), a six-day trip for two to Africa (auctioned at $17,000), and an art piece signed by Karol G created by a fan in Spain which sold for more than $75,000. Donations were also made including over $5,000 towards soccer training for girls.
Special Performances: Following the auction, guests moved to the stage for a one-hour concert. First up was Nelly Furtado who delivered an intimate acoustic set featuring “Say It Right,” “Maneater,” and “I’m Like a Bird.” A highlight was when Furtado sang Fotografa, accompanied by Karol G in Juanes’ style, which she mentioned is one of her favorite songs. Ricardo Montaner also performed with his live band singing hits such as “La Cima del Cielo,” “Me Va a Extra?ar” and “Bsame.” The Colombian artist expressed that it was the first time he had performed in over a year, highlighting Karol G’s support for womens initiatives.
Con Cora Land Experience: In true Karol G style, she made her event unique. There were various activations including a market village with items from Latina entrepreneurs like jewelry and ceramics. Each guest received a Con Cora Land tote filled with goodies such as a JBL portable speaker and a themed bracelet by Amorfa Gemz.
