Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are set to embark on a new musical journey together, with their latest collaboration titled “Call Me When You Break Up.” The song features Gracie Abrams and was released on Thursday (Feb. 20). In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, the artists discussed the creation of the track.
Gracie Abrams shared her excitement about working with Gomez and Blanco, stating that their music has been a significant part of her life for as long as she’s cared about it. “Anything they want from me is a yes forever,” Abrams said. She also praised the song’s immediate impact on her: “It was immediately so stuck in my head as soon as I heard it for the first time.”
The trio mentioned that the opportunity to write their verse came quickly, which, according to Abrams, speaks volumes about how engaging and captivating the song is.
“Call Me When You Break Up” will be featured on Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s upcoming album titled “I Said I Love You First,” which is scheduled for release on March 21. The engaged couple announced the project last week alongside its lead single, “Scared of Loving You.”
In their interview with Lowe, Gomez spoke about working with her fianc: “It just felt like a little taste of what we are and how we made this together,” she said. She also highlighted Blanco’s unique qualities: “He makes you just believe it. Hes someone Im not scared of dying young or anyone but am scared of losing.” Gomez added that by grace, Blanco is the person who has become her most comfortable bond.
