Victoria Mont and Usher took center stage at The Box in New York City on September 8, 2024, for an event celebrating the release of Victoria Mont’s “SOS (Sex on Sight).” This track has since taken top billing on Billboards Adult R&B Airplay chart. It was a remarkable achievement as it leaped to number one from its previous position at four.
Interestingly, SZA isn’t alone in enjoying success with her own ‘SOS’ release; Victoria Mont’s version is also making waves in the music industry. This powerful collaboration not only gave Mont her second victory on Adult R&B Airplay but marked Ushers tenth number-one hit on this chart and secured his record for most leaders by a male artist since its inception.
“SOS,” released under Lovett/RCA Records, was crowned as the topmost played song across adult R&B radio stations in America during the period of February 14-20. The track’s performance improved by an impressive 14% compared to the previous week. Mont previously dominated Adult R&B Airplay with her hit “On My Mama,” where she held the number-one spot for three weeks in March 2024.
Ushers exceptional career is highlighted further as he now shares a tied position (with Charlie Wilson) for most chart-topping singles by any male artist since the Adult R&B Airplay chart started in September 1993. To celebrate Usher’s achievements, Billboard has compiled his impressive list of ten No. 1 hits on this chart over the years.
Victoria Mont’s “SOS” was included in her debut album, Jaguar II, which received a deluxe edition release in October 2024. The original version debuted last August and earned two Grammy Awards: one for best R&B album and another for best engineered album (non-classical).
The success of SOS isnt limited to the Adult R&B Airplay chart; it also climbed from number 25 to 21 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart. Here, its audience impressions rose significantly by nearly 18% compared to the previous period.
All charts as of March 1 are set for updates and can be found on Billboard.com on Tuesday, February 25.
